Glod Inter Holidays at Packwood Haugh School in Shropshire are the perfect introduction to Glod for those currently in school years 5-8.
We run three each summer – Inter A, B and C. Whether you’re up for the high-speed thrill of sofa-surfing or go karting, a new challenge such as climbing or gorge walking, or a more relaxed afternoon of pitch & putt – there’s something for everyone at Glod! Each holiday runs across nine days over eight nights.

Glod has held Inter Holidays at Packwood Haugh School since 2010. This beautiful site is the perfect place for Inter Holidays. We have full use of the school’s extensive facilities – including indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, sports hall, golf course, theatre, climbing wall and art studio. Pupils sleep in the school’s excellent dormitories, in groups of 4-6 per dorm.
The nearby hills of Shropshire and North Wales are a great resource for our more adventurous activities, while the nearby towns of Shrewsbury and Oswestry offer loads of local attractions, giving Inter a great summer-holiday feel.
Around 60-70 pupils come on each Inter Holiday from independent schools all over the North and Midlands of England and Wales.
Over half of those on any holiday may be new to Glod, so we work hard at welcoming and including people right from the start. Pupils sleep in dorms of 4-6 people of the same school year, each group has two to three leaders assigned to look after them.
So, even if you don’t know many others at first, you’re already part of a group for meal times and activities. People make great friendships at Glod, many of which turn out to be lifelong.
The whole week at Inter takes on a theme – driven by silly sketches at meal times and theme-related games and challenges. The pupils are split into four teams who compete against each other for the Glod Inter Trophy, presented to the winning team on the last night.
For example one year the theme was Superheros. We followed the adventures of Clark Kent and Lois Lane as they tried to find the Joker who was trying to ruin camp with his dastardly schemes! What will the theme be this year? You’ll have to come to find out!
Without doubt, food is one of the best things about Glod. We bring our own team of experienced cooks to provide delicious, healthy, home-made food at meal times – not to mention the tasty treats each day for afternoon tea time. We are able to cater for any dietary needs you might have.
