Glod Senior Holidays at St David’s College in Llandudno, North Wales are the highlight of the Glod year for those who have completed school year 9 and above. We run three each summer – Senior A, B and C.

Whether you’re after the high-octane excitement of the Forest Speed Coaster or go karting, a new challenge such as ringo surfing or gorge walking, or a more relaxed afternoon on the beach or playing pitch & putt – there’s something for everyone at Glod. Each holiday is for seven nights.

Location

Glod has held Senior Holidays at St David’s College in Llandudno, North Wales since 1966. This incredible site, overlooking the breathtaking Snowdonia National Park, is the perfect hub for everything we do. We have full use of the school’s excellent facilities – including tennis courts, sports hall, terrace, shooting range and 4×4 course. The mountains, rivers and lakes of Snowdonia are our playground for more adventurous activities, while the nearby seaside resort of Llandudno gives every day at Glod a holiday feel. Pupils sleep in the school’s dormitories, in groups of 4-6 per dorm.

Who comes?

Up to 60 teenagers come on each Senior Holiday from independent schools all over the North and Midlands of England and Wales.

Up to half of those on any Holiday may be new to Glod, so we work hard at welcoming and including people right from the start. Pupils sleep in dorms of 4-6 people of the same school year, with two to three leaders assigned to look after them. So, even if you don’t know many others at first, you’re already part of a group for meal times and activities. People make great friendships at Glod, many of which turn out to be lifelong.

The leadership team is made up of the full-time Glod staff, plus a team of volunteer leaders, including many schoolteachers and undergraduates.

Food

Without doubt, food is one of the best things about Glod. We bring our own team of experienced cooks to provide delicious, healthy, home-made food at meal times – not to mention the tasty treats each day for afternoon tea time. We are able to cater for any dietary needs you might have.
