TRAVEL DIRECTIONS
Parents and relatives are always welcome to bring children to the holiday but we do ask you to arrive between 4.15pm and 5pm on Sunday 15th July (A Week), Thursday 26th July (B week) or Monday 6th August (C Week). Proceedings will begin at 5pm. Please do not arrive before 4.15pm (we will not be prepared to receive campers before 4.15pm so if you find yourself near Shrewsbury before 4.15pm, we would suggest you enjoy a drink at one of the many cafes in the town). If you have an older child attending Senior A, at St David’s College Llandudno, please drop them off first before bringing your child to Shropshire. If it would help to know if someone else is travelling from your area, please contact the office. Children should be collected between 10.45am and 11.15am on Monday 23rd July (A Week), Friday 3rd August (B Week) or Tuesday 14th July (C Week). Please do not arrange for your son/daughter to leave earlier than this. If you have an older child at Senior A, please collect your younger child from Inter A first before going to St David’s College to collect your older child.

ii) Activities We offer basic instruction in all our activities, so there is no need for any previous experience. If, however, you would rather your son/daughter did not take part in a particular activity, please indicate on the form. We cannot guarantee to run every activity in our brochure, but will endeavour to cater for popular demand. Anyone taking part in watersports must be able to swim 50 metres in light clothing, without assistance, or be happy and confident in the water. The cost of all activities is included in the fees. All the activities are well supervised and a high standard of safety is observed; however, responsibility cannot be accepted for accidents which occur due to someone disobeying the leader’s instructions.
iii) Pocket money We operate a bank at Gloddaeth, and all money, train tickets and other valuables (including mobile phones) must be handed in on arrival for safe keeping. There is a direct debit system at the holiday for purchases made on site, and children will have access to funds as and when money is needed. We suggest that a maximum of £50 pocket money is adequate for the holiday (meaning your child could spend £20 on tuck, £20 on Glod merchandise & £10 on books). We ask that young people are not sent from home with large quantities of drinks and sweets as we find this means they don’t eat their meals. There is a tuck shop, which opens daily on site, where they can buy some tuck if they wish.
HEALTH
There is a qualified doctor or nurse and a number of first aiders on all our holidays. All medicines must be handed in at the beginning of the holiday in the original packaging, for safe keeping and to ensure that they are taken at the correct times. Where children are used to handling their own medication (for example for asthma) it can usually be kept with them, but the medical officer must be informed of the situation at the beginning of the holiday. Please also inform us of any allergies or illness that may affect your son/daughter whilst on holiday, and of any specific dietary needs that we should cater for.
INSURANCE
Although The Titus Trust is covered for public liability, we do suggest that you consider taking out cover for medical insurance, cancellation, illness and loss or theft of belongings.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
All equipment is provided. The exception is water pistols which we encourage your child to bring if they would like to get involved in water fights at Glod. We ask that mobile phones, laptops, tablet computers, CD & DVD players should NOT be brought to Gloddaeth and the same applies to knives and other “weapons” (e.g. Catapults, air pistols etc.). MP3 players are allowed if used responsibly.
Children are encouraged to write home during the holiday and there are phones on site which they are welcome to use. The best time for them to call you is between 7pm and 8pm, as this is when the children are most likely to be less busy. In an emergency you can contact us on the Glod mobile (07491 649 002) at any point during the day. Please only contact us using this mobile number, even if you have been called from a school landline as we can only make outgoing calls using the landlines.
It is a condition of our tenancy that there is no smoking or use of illegal drugs on out holidays. We ask for parental support on this issue.
